Last month I was been busy making lots of decorations for Festa Junina and today I am going to share my crochet bunting pattern with you! The month of June in Brazil is a month long of celebrations, similar to the harvest festivals I had as a child. They decorate the areas with colourful bunting and eat the most delicious food and desserts, which are focused around autumnal vegetables such a corn, potatoes, & nuts.
For this pattern you can use any yarn colour combinations of your choice to suit you taste. I made a colourful happy collection of crochet granny bunting to be reused for future celebrations, maybe a tea party of Pod in the garden with her friends.

How to make a Yarn Tassel
Step 1: Cut a 20cm piece of yarn in your desired colour, place this over the your first finger as shown.
Step 2: Wrap the yarn over your hand 30 times.
Step 3: Remove your fingers and using the first piece of yarn you cut, secure the wrapped yarn with a double knot as shown.
Step 4: Cut the tail of yarn which you used to wrap leaving a 50cm tail. Secure the top of the tassel (where you added a knot), and wrap the tail of the wrapping yarn 7 times around the tassel about 2cm below the knot as shown.
Step 5: Bring the tail of the yarn up above the wraps just made, insert your crochet hook through the 7 wraps, pick up the tail and bring down to the bottom of the tassel to secure the wraps.
Step 6: Use the tails from the top tie, attach the tassel to the central sc of any triple sc inc., add a double knot. Insert your crochet hook through the 7 wraps to pick of the tails and bring down to the bottom of the tassel. Cut the tassel to your desired length.
How to connect Crochet Granny Bunting
Using any yarn of your choice, chain 20, now sc across each along the top of your motif (as shown below), this will be 31 sts in total, continue in the same manner onto the next motif and continue until all of your motifs are joined, finally chain 20. Fasten off & weave in your ends.
The chains at the beginning and end of the bunting can be used to tie your bunting into the required place for decorating.
