Crochet Snowdrops | Free Crochet Flower Patterns

As we move into February, I am sharing with you my crochet Snowdrops pattern. I love Snowdrops, I used to see these tiny dainty flower emerge from the cold winter snow on my bike rides to work in Germany & I knew that warmer times were ahead.

My free Crochet Snowdrops pattern is written below with a simple step by step written photo tutorial or if you prefer a video tutorial, I have also made a Youtube video.

Materials

  • 2 meters white yarn per flower
  • 2 meters green yarn per flower
  • 2 meters of green yarn per leaf
  • Matching crochet hook to your yarn
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors
  • 25cm florist wire per flower or leaf
  • Cutting pliers

Gauge: N/A. Use the smallest crochet hook you can with your chosen yarn to create tight stitches, this will help your petals keep the form & not flop.

Size: With my lace yarn & 1.25mm crochet hook my Crochet Snowdrops flowers were 2cm in diameter. The leaves are 5cm in length & 1cm in width.

Notes: The flowers are worked in the round with round 3 working into both the front & back loops with 3 yarn changes. A wire is inserted to the base of the flower which will be covered with green yarn. The leaves will be made individually with wire inserted into the base. Once all the parts have been made the flower stem will be made first then the leaves placed around the stem.
