I am so excited to be writing this first post, after many months spent working on creating Moara Crochet. Last year I tested the water at writing my own crochet patterns, alongside my crochet bikini business Biquíni de Crochê. Now 16 months on I have created my new brand, Moara Crochet. So for the first post it only seems appropriate to share with you a little about me, what I do plus my future plans for this blog.
I’m Roseanna an English girl living in Brazil with my husband, our little girl (aka Pãozinha), Ebony a Romanian rescue dog who came with us from Germany, plus our most recent edition Saffron the turtle. Me & my husband are ex-professional musicians, although now we live in Brazil we have changed music to be our hobby, but music is still very much a part of us. We love to eat, walk along the beach gardens & spend time together.
When I am not taking care of my little one I am a crochet designer, creating crochet patterns that I have been locked away in my head (some which have been stored for years). My aim is to create beautiful bohemain crochet patterns which are elgant & fit well. I am not a crochet designer uses use bulky yarn as I live in the tropics. The last thing I need here is more warmth! Instead I tend to use lace, fingering or dk yarns mainly in cotton. I want to help fill the gap for those of us who have passed the crochet beginner level & want to move onto creating beautiful crochet clothing. All of my patterns are easy to read photo turtorials which I sell via Etsy.
My purpose of this blog is to share with you my love of crochet. With crochet knowlegde & tips, to crochet design inspirations plus give you free crochet patterns designed by myself. I would also like you to join me on my journey to become ‘Crochet Conscious‘. I will share with you how we can help our world be a better place through the power of our hands, with crochet upcycle ideas & tutorials.
Love, Roseanna x
