This year I have done a whole overhaul of my business & rebranded into Moara Crochet, so I thought it was about time that I also became more professional in my crochet tools. So instead of my good old make do ‘paperclip’ stitch markers, which always fall out or get stick in my work. I did some research online trying to find some markers which were my style, but I could not quite find the ones I wanted. So I decided to make my very own set of yarn stitch markers & share with you how easy they are to make. Why did not do this sooner?
The most difficult part of this tutorial is actually choosing your beads or pendent drops you want to use! I can honestly tell you I spent at least 30 mintues in our local bead shop trying to narrow my selection down the perfect 5 for me. A boheiam mix of the evil eye, hasma hand, an indian paisley & a red hot chilli for some spice! Once you have choosen your desired finishings now to the easy part. I have also made you both a Youtube & photo tutorial to help you along the way.
Materials
- Jewellery pliers preferbly 1 nose tipped for ease (2)
- Large lobster claw clasp (therefore easy to clip into your work)
- Single jump hoops (4mm)
- Beads or pendents (with a hole) of your choice
Instructions
Place a jump hoop between the two pliers and turn the pliers aways from each other (one turning anti-clockwise the second clockwise), to open the hoop. Keep hold of your hoop with one of the pliers.
Add a lobster claw clasp fastening & your choice of decoration, using the second set of pliers close the hoop. And that is it!
You will never need to make do with hairclips, safety pins or paperclips again! Simple & easy, plus my yarn stitch markers now look as gorgeous as my jewellery.
