Free Crochet leaf Pattern

Today I am sharing with you my Free Crochet Leaf Pattern. This is the same leaf I have used with my crochet Hydrangea flower pattern. A broad leaf with little pointed edging. Make your crochet leaf in any yarn of your choice with a matching sized crochet hook.

Free Crochet Flower Pattern - Hydrangea from Moara Crochet

For my Crochet Hydrangea flower I have made this leaf pattern in a apple green cotton yarn, yet for my Crochet Rose Flowers I have used a cotton yarn together with alpaca suri yarn to give a fuzzy effect similar to a traditional Rose leaf.

Easy Crochet Rose Pattern - Moara Crocht

Materials

2 meters Green yarn
2.5mm| B Crochet Hook
Yarn needle
Scissors

Gauge: N/A. Use the smallest crochet hook you can with your chosen yarn to create tight stitches, this will help your leaves keep the form & not flop.

Size: 7 x 5cm diameter of Leaf

Notes: The leaf is worked using both sides of the foundation chain.

Special Stitches

Treble Crochet (tr): Yarn over twice (3 on the hook), insert hook into the stitch, pick up the yarn (4 on your hook), yarn over pull through first two loops on the hook (3 on your hook), yarn over pull through next two loops on the hook (2 loops on the hook), yarn over pull through last two loops on the hook.

Picot (picot): Chain 3, sl st into the 3rd from the hook.

Free Crochet Leaf Pattern

Row 1: Chain 10, sc in the second from the hook, hdc, picot, dc, picot, *tr, picot* repeat * to * 2 more times, dc, picot, hdc, picot, (sc, picot, sc) in the final stitch,

Turn to work down the opposite side of the foundation chain, picot, hdc, picot, dc, *picot, tr* repeat * to * 2 more times, picot, dc, picot, hdc, sc in th final stitch. Fasten off and weave in your ends.
