Learn how to master back post double crochet aka BPDC in a few simple steps. The back post double crochet is a variation of the double crochet with a change of position where you wrap the yarn on your fabric. Once you have mastered this stitch you will be open to a new world of textured crochet from 3D crochet patterns & cable crochet which can replicate the beautiful cable designs found in knitting.
My simple step by step written photo tutorial is below or if you prefer a video tutorial, I have also made a Youtube video.
How to Back Post Double Crochet
Step 1: Yarn over, insert hook from the back into the gap between the post stitch and the previous one (as shown below),
Step 2: push your hook in front of the post stitch and out of the other side, pick up the yarn & pull through to the top of the stitch (3 loops on the hook),
Step 3: yarn over pull through first 2 loops, yarn over pull through second 2 loops.
