It is week 5 already! Today I wam going to be share with you how to make a crochet Bluebell flower. These gorgeous little delights are the sign of Springs arrival, they carpet English woodlands with their enchanting dainty flowers. This is the fifth pattern in a series of FREE CROCHET FLOWER patterns I have & will be sharing with you as many of us stay at home through the coming days & weeks.
My free Crochet Bluebell pattern is written below with a simple step by step written photo tutorial or if you prefer a video tutorial, I have also made a Youtube video.
Materials
- 2 meters blue yarn (or any yarn from your stash) per flower I would recommend making 6-8 flowers per stem
- 14 meters double the thickness of your flower yarn Green cotton yarn
- Matching crochet hook to your yarn
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
- 3 meters florist wire
- Cutting pliers
Gauge: N/A. Use the smallest crochet hook you can with your choosen yarn to create tight stitches, this will help your petals keep the form & not flop.
Size: With my lace yarn & 1mm crochet hook my Crochet Bluebell flowers were 2cm in diameter. I doubled my lace yarn & used a 2.2mm crochet hook to make 14cm long leaves.
Notes: The flowers are worked in the round. I would recommend making 6-8 flowers to make a full stem. Then the leaves will be made individually with wire inserted into the foundation chain. Once all the parts have been made the flower stem will be made first then the leaves placed around the stem.

Stem
Step 1: Cut a piece of florist wire 20cm long, insert wire in and out of row 1 (as shown on the photo below), twist wire behind the flower to keep firm.
Leaf
Make 6 – Row 1: Ch 28, sc in the 2nd from the hook. 6hdc, 14dc, 5hdc, sc in final stitch. Fasten off & weave in your ends. Cut a piece of florist wire 15cm longer than your leaf, weave the wire in & out of the foundation chain until the tip.
Flower Assembly
Once you have made your required number of crochet bluebells arrange the wires together to create a flower bunch. About 10cm below the lowest flower arrange the leaves around the central stem & mould the leaves into your desired form.
