To start the year I am sharing with you a free crochet leaf pattern. After listening to the feedback from my survey I will be creating more free crochet flowers and leaves patterns over the coming year, starting with this crochet Ivy leaf.
View my other of FREE CROCHET FLOWER patterns each one includes a easy step by step written tutorial such as the Crochet Ranunculus Flower which I have used in my brooch to compliment the crochet ivy leaves.
My free Crochet Leaf pattern is written below with a simple step by step written photo tutorial or if you prefer a video tutorial, I have also made a Youtube video.
Materials
- 2 meters of green yarn of your choice
- Matching crochet hook to your yarn
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
Gauge: N/A. Use the smallest crochet hook you can with your chosen yarn to create tight stitches, this will help your crochet leaf to keep its form & not flop.
Size: Using lace weight yarn & a 1.75mm crochet hook my flower is 3cm wide and 3cm length.
Notes: The leaf is turn after each row. For my brooch I have made my Ivy without stem as I have inserted florist wire. Written instructions below so option with & without stem.
Treble Crochet (tr): Yarn over hook twice, insert hook into next stitch, yarn over hook and pull through the first two loops (4 loops on your hook), yarn over hook and pull through the next two loops (3 loops on your hook), yarn over hook and pull through the next two loops (2 loops on your hook), yarn over hook and pull through the last two loops.
Doube Treble Crochet (dtr): Yarn over hook three times, insert hook into next stitch, yarn over hook and pull through the first two loops (5 loops on your hook), yarn over hook and pull through the next two loops (4 loops on your hook), yarn over hook and pull through the next two loops (3 loops on your hook), yarn over hook and pull through the next two loops (2 loops on your hook), yarn over hook and pull through the last two loops.
