Free Crochet Shamrock

As we leap into March it is almost time for St. Patricks Day and time for me to share with you my Free Crochet Shamrock pattern. A quick easy pattern for you to make your own 3 or 4 leaf Clover | Shamrock.

For this pattern I have used a collection of Green yarns in DK weight from my own stash to create a collection of Shamrocks to add to a linen cushion for our reading chair. But you can use any yarn and matching crochet hook of your choice!

Materials

• 3 meters Green DK yarn (I have used Amigurumi yarn from Circulo)
• 3mm| D Crochet Hook
• Yarn needle
• Scissors

Gauge: N/A. Use the smallest crochet hook you can with your chosen yarn to create tight stitches, this will help your leaves keep the form & not flop.

Size: 5 x 5cm diameter of Leaf

Notes: The leaf is also worked in the round.

Special Stitches

Treble Crochet (tr): Yarn over twice (3 on the hook), insert hook into the stitch, pick up the yarn (4 on your hook), yarn over pull through first two loops on the hook (3 on your hook), yarn over pull through next two loops on the hook (2 loops on the hook), yarn over pull through last two loops on the hook.

Free Crochet Shamrock Pattern

Row 1: (Green Yarn) Chain 3 or 4, sl st into the first stitch. *(ch1, dc, 3tr, dc, ch1, sl st), sl st into the next stitch * repeat * to * 2 or 3 more times.

To make the stalk, chain 12. Fasten off and weave in your ends.
