Crochet Daffodil Cushion Pattern - Moara Crochet

Crochet Daffodil Granny Square

At your request I have created a Crochet Daffodil Granny Square pattern, inspired by one of my most loved Free Crochet Flower Patterns. Similar to my original flower the flower is 3D, therefore popping out of the Crochet Granny square. Use your motif in a number of projects from a pocket patch to creating a full crochet cushion, as I have to add some happy Spring decor to our cottage.

My free Crochet Daffodil Granny Square pattern is written below with a simple step by step written photo tutorial or if you prefer a video tutorial, I have also made a Youtube video.

Materials

  • 4 meters white DK yarn
  • 3 meters yellow DK yarn
  • 16.5 meters of contrasting DK yarn for the background
  • Matching crochet hook to your yarn I have used a 3mm
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors

Gauge: 19 stitches and 10 rows to measure 10 x 10 (4x4in) over dc sts.

Size: For my Crochet Flower Granny Square, I have used a 3mm hook with DK cotton yarn creating a crochet granny square of 10 x 10cm.

Notes: The flower is worked in the round using the front loops to make the petals first. Next the centre yellow trumpet is added to the first row of the flower using fpdc. The back loops are then used to create the granny square.

Crochet Stitches

To make my crochet daffodil you will be using a few advanced crochet stitches including: Treble Crochet (tr), Double Treble Crochet (Dtr) and Front Post Double Crochet (FPDC). If you are unsure of any of these stitches there is not need to worry, as I have made easy to follow crochet stitch videos for you below.
