Learn How to Embroider on Crochet with my simple step by step written photo tutorial or if you prefer a video tutorial, I have also made a Youtube video.
Materials
- Crochet fabric you would like to add your embroidery
- 2 meters Green yarn (I have used Circulo Amigurumi)
- 2 meters Lilac yarn (I have used Circulo Amigurumi)
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
Gauge: N/A
Size: Variable as you can choose how big or small you would like your Lavender stem.
Notes: The stem if first created with a line stitch and lazy daisy stitch. Once the stem is made with the amount of leaves to your liking, the Lavender head is created with French knots.
How to Embroiodery on Crochet Lavender
To create the stem, embroider a line stitch to the length you would like you stem. Next add Lazy daisy stitches to either side of the stem. Follow the tutorial below to learn how to embroidery the Lazy Daisy Stitch on Crochet.
Lavender Embroidery
Once you have made your stem and leaves, you will add rows of 3 French Knots to create the flower head, ending with a double row of French Knot for the tip of the flower head.
Step 1: Thread the lilac yarn onto the tapestry needle. Insert the needle from the back into your desired space – as shown in the photo below.
Step 2: Wrap the yarn 3 times around the needle as shown, hold onto the thread with left hand to secure the wraps on the needle.
Step 3: Continue holding onto the thread with the left hand, reinsert the needle into the fabric next to the first insertion (not in the same place, you must catch a little piece of crochet between to secure the stitch). To ensure your knot is created, do this step slowly to prevent any unnessary knots creating. Once the needle and thread is all the way through, release the thread from the left hand to secure the french knot.
Assembly
Now your French Knot is created, repeat this process twice more to create a line of 3 french knots, Create 4-5 rows of 3 knots, followed by a 2 row and finally a single french knot row to finish your Lavender flower.
